(‘Lord of Desire’)

Symbol: a wine goblet upon a purple or pink backdrop

Info: The god of hedonism, pleasure, greed, and excess, Golgoroth is the manifestation of all hidden vices, cruel passions, and secret temptations that men and women hide fearfully in their hearts. This abject lack of restraint and pursuit of pleasures lures many mortals to his side, often gathering in places of carnal pleasure to pay homage and praise to their depraved lord. Followers of Golgoroth can also be found at the bottom of a wine bottle, ensconced in the depths of an opium den, or belching at an eatery after their sixth plate of food. Certain followers are known to go months without bathing, claiming it to be their Lord’s will. Outsiders view the followers of Golgoroth as lazy and depraved individuals (though some are quite obviously jealous of the orgies and ample drugs on offer to Golgoroth’s faithful).

In dwarven culture, Golgoroth is often depicted as an obese dwarf with greasy hair holding a jeweled wine goblet, while the elves see him as an asexual being – a hermaphrodite with two sets of devilish horns growing from its head. Humans and halflings have a far more disturbing depiction of Golgoroth – that of a naked, bloated giant constantly feasting. What looks like ants crawling along his skin turns out to be Golgoroth’s mass of followers, continuing to revel and engage in carnal pleasures in the afterlife in the folds of his fat.

Golgoroth’s rivals include Flayne, who looks down on the lack of work ethic from the Lord of Desire’s faithful, and Rosalba, chiefly because Golgoroth has been successful in luring a certain amount of poets and artists away from her side with the promise of inspiration and fame.

Specialist priests: Hedonists – Lust, pride and self-indulgence are the hallmarks of the clerics who follow Golgoroth. Disheveled yet glib of tongue, these clerics are driven on to search for ever greater sensations and ever more self-fulfillment until only the most decadent and debased of acts can stir their emotions or provide the pleasure they have come to crave. The clerics wear garish robes or armor decorated in the sacred colors of Golgoroth: pink, purple, and black.

Special spells:
Hedonist’s Delight
Range: Touch
Target: Creature touched
Duration: 1 hour/level
Saving Throw: No

The caster confers on the subject heightened sensibility to pleasurable sensations. Food tastes better, cloth feels softer, sex stimulates more strongly, and orgasms approach awe-inspiring. Any cure spell cast on the target is maximized (a full 8 hit points on a Cure Light Wounds spell, for instance). Any crafting proficiency check the target undertakes during the duration receives a +2 bonus.

Orgasmic Vibrations
Range: 25 ft
Target: One living creature
Duration: 1 round/level
Saving Throw: Yes

A grand shuddering orgasm overwhelms a living creature that fails its saving throw, making the target dazed for the duration of the spell. A target that makes its saving throw still experiences pleasurable, but merely distracting sensations.
